  • This is how to make a record sound

    By ampsarus
Great work by Tool and Joe Barresi. I’m impressed with the clean full dynamic without ever feeling loud. The envelope is right where it should be. I wish more records made today were like this. 5 stars on sq alone.
  • Money Grab

    By Onecs75
Just a money grab. 13 years for 6 songs? They wrote 4 almost 5 albums in the same time frame. This was just a 6 song money grab to go along with them announcing them joining iTunes... Wake up people. Nonetheless... it’s awesome.
  • A Masterpiece

    By Briguy079
they just keep getting better...heavy as ever but more intelligent, never resting on their laurels....saw them in L.A. and it may be the most amazing thing Ive ever seen...
  • They should have kept us guessing

Only 6 real songs, the rest is a dumpster fire.
  • The math:

    By Droceankiddd
I am a lifelong fan, but I did the math. MJK sings on 23.426% of this album. There’s not a single yell. No soaring sustained notes, or even projected notes. The occasional growl I guess you could say, but it’s a massive absence of on MJK’s part. Imagine TOOL had all their teeth pulled. No power, no urgency, the compositions don’t flow, nothing that made TOOL what they once were. Worst of all, it’s shockingly melodically repetitive.
  • The best tool album yet

    By cronos1967
Transcendent audio experience. I suggest you listen to it five times completely before you can even begin to understand what they have created. Takes some work but there are no bad songs on this tour de force from artists at the top of their game. There are no imitators. There is only one Tool.
  • Great Stuff.

It’s fair to say that the album’s a bit... divisive. As someone who has never been a fan of TOOL until now, I think the album is great. Just a little patience is required.

  • FART.

Moaney vocals - check. Delay on slap bass - check. Open chord strumming - check. Polyrythmic over complicated drums - check. Long songs - check. Quiet / Loud breakdowns - check. Same. Old. Thing.
